Sorrite! I’ve actually never been to Sydney so when I go up there, I’ll defs hit you up.
Oh and if you go to a Streetparty event on Saturday, Rats > Dad. Always. Also, my friend http://iamposeidon.tumblr.com/ will be taking photos at Rats this Saturday so try and get a photo from the boy walking around with a camera and dreadlocks.
Weather’s going to be shit this weekend, but otherwise I’d tell you to ride along the Maribyrnong Creek to Williamstown cause it’s sucha good, easy ride. Oh and Williamstown has 3 icecream shops next to eachother. Also, the beach is probably better than St. Kilda/Port Melbourne etc.. cause they’re all gross and overrated.
You should travel by public transport (http://metlinkmelbourne.com/, the Journey Planner can somewhat extrapolate times so be careful) as much as you can, and make sure you go on the elevators at Parliament Station because they still make me go “woahhhhh” every time I use them.
If you like shopping, have a squiz here: http://www.lostandfoundmarket.com.au/ by taking either the 109 or 42 tram from Collins Street in the city and getting off when you see Maccas on Victoria Parade.
Before/after you get on a tram at Collins Street, you should pop into the Lindt store and get their macaroons for $2.50 each (which they call ‘Delice’). Wow, just wow.
And then I’d probably go to The Royal Botanic Gardens because I’m that way inclined, and on the way there I’d pop into NGV because I’m that way inclined also.
If you want cheap Vietnamese-style dinner and don’t mind catching the 19 tram/Upfield line train for abit… Go here: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/71/1491087/restaurant/Victoria/Green-Field-Asia-Restaurant-Brunswick
Then I’d go to any of the surrounding bars, such as Etiquette, Penny Black or Brunswick Green. But if you’re younger (I’m guessing you’re my age, not 25) and wanting to go clubbing or the like I’d probably go to a semi-bearable event run by streetparty as they play decent music and you’re not likely to be hassled by men wearing Ed Hardy (http://streetparty.tv/?page_id=63).
Oh my god I think I liked compiling that a little too much. Hope you have a lovely time here, even though the weather is being oh-so Melbourne-esque. Tell me how it goes!
Oh and to confuse you even more, someone else from here wrote something similar which is much more concise/probably easier to follow: http://marxisforbros.tumblr.com/post/1597123824/5-things-to-do-in-melbourne
WEW! Enjoy.
Sorrite, I have a tendency of liking things because I’m too lazy to save them in ‘Drafts’, so I might be stealing some of your stuff soon.
Wave takes such fun photos! From day one, soo much lub for her blog.
I know she uses a DSLR, but do you know which film cameras she uses?
Haha I should probs ask her, but yet again… I am lazy.
Whatever I’m on uni holidays (and it’s too hot in Melbourne right now).
Thankyou for looking, reading and particularily for writing non-anonymously :)
Hahaha nah I put the photos up for people to see, so it’s fineeeee signora.
Yeah, he does look somewhat not-underage now. We’re going to start telling strangers that we’re twins.
